Triaxial gas detection technology to break the monopoly

PetroChina recently released news that August 8, at the PetroChina Pipeline Bureau testing company equipment center, independently developed by the PetroChina Pipeline Bureau testing company's domestic first set of large diameter three-axis HD magnetic flux leakage detector is being tested and assembled. These detectors are about to enter the Southwest Oil and Gas Pipeline and West-East Pipeline pipeline construction.

Running natural gas pipelines require regular non-destructive testing to ensure operational safety. In the past, pipe testing commonly used single-axis detection technology, there are some limitations. Triaxial testing technology is the high-end technology in the pipeline inspection industry. Compared with uniaxial detection, the three-axis detection optimizes the structure of magnet and steel brush and other new magnetic probes and the new three-axis defect identification function on the one hand, and has the advantages of high detection precision and strong corrosion defect identification ability And other advantages, to achieve the in-service pipe diameter, axial and dynamic image detection.

Over the years, the three-axis inspection technology was monopolized by Rosen and PII. Monopoly means high prices. China has tens of thousands of kilometers of in-service pipelines. Non-destructive testing of this huge market "cake" is occupied by foreign companies.

PetroChina Pipeline Bureau testing company determined to break the technology monopoly. In 2009, the testing company began to independently develop three-axis detection technology. After mastering the core technology theory, the testing company successively carried out tens of thousands of different kinds of tests such as pressure, temperature, vibration, static, dynamic and pulling at the test base, and achieved the success of the test phase.

In April 2013, the testing company developed the first 711 mm diameter three-axis magnetic flux leakage detector in China and successfully applied it to the Liangping-Pingjin section of Southwest Oil and Gas Field. On this basis, the detection company successfully developed a diameter of 1016 mm large diameter three-axis high-frequency magnetic flux leakage detector, and equipped with speed control system. On May 7, the first industrial test was carried out at the Lixin-Qingshan Station, the longest West-East Gas Pipeline at the domestic station, with a total length of 300 km. On June 4, after a series of preparations such as pigging and caliper measurement, the detector was sent out from Lishin Station, which lasted 17 hours at 3:18 on June 5 and was successfully collected at Qingshan Station. During operation, the detector is equipped with a speed control system, and the speed is successfully reduced to within the conditions to meet the high-pressure high-flow industrial pipeline inspection construction requirements, to achieve high-pressure pipeline in-service detection, providing accurate data acquisition Reliable guarantee.
