The current price of memory has basically fallen to the bottom, buying a brand of memory can provide enough memory bandwidth and capacity, enough to capture images and convert data. Hard drives are the key to this configuration, not only do they require large capacity, but they also store faster. The minimum cache size is 2M. The average hard disk can reach this cache. The larger the capacity, the better. The graphics card is not so important in video capture. You can choose a general AGP card with more than 32M. It is enough to buy a normal home for a sound card. Others, but generally not necessary.



Features


The analog video signal from the video input terminal can be received by the video capture card on the PC, and the signal is collected, quantized into a digital signal, and then compressed and encoded into a digital video sequence. Most video capture cards have a hardware compression function. When acquiring a video signal, the video signal is first compressed on the card, and then the compressed video data is transmitted to the host through the PCI interface. The general acquisition card uses the intraframe compression algorithm to store the digitized video into an AVI file, and the high-end video capture card (hard pressure card) can directly compress the collected digital video data into an MPEG-1 format file in real time.

The installation of the capture card system will automatically install the driver, then connect the DV to the 1394 video capture card input terminal of the computer with the 1394 cable, and then install the video conference. Driver installation


Insert the VGA-capture card into the PCI slot of the PC and boot to install the driver. Copy the newVGACapture folder on the CD to your hard drive, select the newVGACapture folder where the driver is located, and install the driver. After the driver is installed, it will appear as: vgacap in Windows Device Manager. Then in the newVGACapture folder, click reg.bat to display the registration success, restart the machine, you can use the VGA card. This card provides support for DirectShow SDK and VC SDK, which can be developed twice. Supports output in formats such as RGB24, RGB32, and YUY2.

Hardware installation


Insert the VGA capture card into the PCI slot of the PC, and connect the interface cable to the card. There are two interfaces on the cable. One is VGA IN (connected to the VGA source) and the other is VGA OUT. (VGA signal source loop-through output)

Disconnect the power of the main unit and the connection that needs to be disconnected. Open the side bezel of the main unit and you will see the largest board inside, namely: the main board. There will be milky white (most) slots on the bottom of the motherboard (there are 5 large boards and 3 small ones), which is the PCI slot. Insert the capture card into any PCI slot. If you have other cards installed in your PCI slot, it is best to separate one slot from the card. Secure the capture card with screws. Install the side bezel of the main unit to connect the corresponding wiring and mains power. Boot, if you are a 1394 capture card and WIN XP system, then the system will automatically recognize the capture card, if not then put the CD attached to the capture card into the CD-ROM drive, install the driver and some programs required for the capture card. Right click on My Computer, left click on Properties, left click on the Hardware tab, left click on the Device Manager tab and see if there is a yellow question mark in it. If there is no yellow question mark, it means the capture card is installed correctly and can be used. If there is a yellow question mark, it means that the capture card is not installed or the driver is not installed, or there are other problems. After solving the above problems, the capture card can work. It is recommended that you familiarize yourself with the instructions for using the capture card before using the capture card.


1) Flashing during playback, the picture is not continuous:


Many friends think that this is caused by dropping frames during the collection. In fact, this is probably caused by your PC not playing DV files properly. DV playback has higher requirements on the CPU, and there are also requirements for the speed of the disk and the memory. Premiere6, MSP6, sclive and other software have a frame drop indication in the status bar when capturing. If the dropped 0 frame is displayed, it means there is no dropped frame.


2) Why only collect the size of 360x288?


The resolution of the PAL DV is 720x576. Since 1394 is only a function of data transmission, and does not do any processing on the video content, it is not a direct thing to collect 720x288 through the 1394 port. Some friends see the attribute is 360x288 after collecting DV. In fact, this is because the setting of DV playback in directX is 50%, and it can be solved after setting it to 100% of full screen. The method is as follows: Play the DV AVI file with the media player, set the resolution to full screen in File-->Properties-->Advanced-->DV video decoder, and set the default value. 3) A horizontal "burr" appears at the edge of the moving object:


The glitch is generated because one frame of the camera and the TV has two fields, and the generation time of the two fields is different. On the PC, we see two frames at the same time, so we see the "glitch" caused by the motion displacement. This is uncomfortable to observe on a PC, but it is an advantage when viewed on a TV, making the movement smoother.


If the purpose of the production is only for viewing on a PC, you can use de-interlace to eliminate staggered "glitch" when editing.


4) The picture color is not good, and it is inconsistent with what you see on the camera:


This is due to the difference in color systems between PC and TV, so a good video editing system should have a monitor instead of a PC monitor.


I have dropped frames when doing DV capture with 1394 card. How to solve it?


First of all, please confirm that your question is really a drop frame, not a misunderstanding in the previous question. Premiere6, MSP6, sclive and other software have a frame drop indication in the status bar when capturing. If the dropped 0 frame is displayed, it means there is no dropped frame.


If there is really a drop frame, please check the following:


1) Set a separate IRQ number for the 1394 card, refer to the installation.


2) Microsoft's DV camera driver is recommended for OHCI cards


3) Check windows, directX installation version is correct, and there are related patches. If you are capturing with premiere6 and MSP6, also install the corresponding patch.


3) Start the DMA function of the hard disk


4) Clean up the disk fragments


5) Do not do other work on the PC when collecting


I can't successfully log back to the camera, how to solve it?


1) First of all, make sure your camera is supported by dv. The European version of the dv machine canceled this feature due to tax issues. There is a way to restore the dv recordback function by modifying the firmware of the machine.
