Lever Hoists fall into two main categories: cable or rope hoists and chain hoists. Both variants rely on a ratchet and pawl system to rotate a gear or pulley a pre-set distance that lifts the load. The ratchet and lever mechanism is equipped with a hook or fastener which is used to suspend the lever hoist from a suitable support. Both lever hoist types may be used in any orientation for lifting, tensioning, or pulling operations although chain type hoists are generally more suited to vertical lifting.

The Associated Press on December 13 quoted the famous Japanese truck manufacturer Isuzu executives as saying that if the company’s annual sales of small trucks in the North American market doubled compared with the current one, it would consider building a new small truck factory in the United States.
According to reports, President Isuzu Ikegami revealed this news while showing the media a new truck. He said that if the company sells about 50,000 small trucks in the North American market each year, it will consider building a new small truck assembly plant in the United States. Last year, Isuzu sold a total of 25,000 small trucks in the United States and Canada.
Currently, Isuzu, headquartered in Tokyo, has a small truck factory in Wisconsin, USA, with an annual output of 4,700 vehicles.
Isuzu Corporation has maintained a long-term capital alliance relationship with the United States General Motors Corporation. But in April this year, Isuzu Corporation and General Motors Corporation of the United States put an end to this relationship. GM sold most of its 7.9% stake in Isuzu Corporation to Mitsubishi and ITOCHU.
