Gold-uranium ore beneficiation technology
In addition to gold, gold - uranium ore contains more than 0.01% uranium. The main axis of ore uraninite and pitchblende, and often closely associated with the iron hydroxide. Gold is mainly present in fine and coarse form, but it is also encapsulated in pyrite in the form of particles.
In order to enrich gold and uranium, it is best to use re-election methods (slots, jigging and heavy medium dressing, etc.). The principle process for processing gold-uranium ore is shown in Figure 1.

Process I is the process that is commonly used today for production. The raw ore is first subjected to cyanidation and gold extraction, and then the uranium is leached from the cyanide tailings. Finally, the pyrite is recovered from the tailings of the leached uranium by flotation. The pyrite is calcined, and the obtained SO 2 is used to prepare sulfuric acid, and the calcination is treated by cyanidation to recover the gold therein.
Scheme II is suitable for treating ore that is capable of obtaining the final waste tailings by flotation.
Process III is most suitable for the treatment of gold ore that is mainly encapsulated in pyrite and must be calcined-cyanated to be recovered.
The gold-uranium ore processed by the South African Westin-Jeep-Levits gold processing plant contains 18.29g/t of gold, contains 0.02% of uranium, and both gold and uranium are concentrated in the fine-grained grade. Select and cyanide joint process (Figure 2).

The ore is crushed to less than 9mm in a section, and then subjected to three-stage grinding. The second section of the hydrocyclone is used to recover free gold by a jig and a belt chute, and the gold recovery rate is 30% to 52%. The belt chute tailings are dewatered and reground by a third-stage grinding machine, and then sent to the first stage hydrocyclone for classification; the overflow is first concentrated by a thickener, and then cyanized by air agitation leaching tank. After the cyanide leachate slurry was filtered to give a clear, the recovery of gold with zinc powder replacement method, the gold leaching rate of about 95% to 98%. The filter cake is leached with uranium by sulfuric acid. The total gold recovery rate of the plant is 96% to 97.8%, and the total recovery rate of uranium is 98% to 99%.
