On December 1, 2014, Hagrid's pure electric buses successfully passed the wading trial at the National Automobile Quality Supervision and Inspection Center in Xiangyang, Hubei, and became the industry's first pure electric bus that successfully passed water-related tests. The experiment was conducted in strict accordance with GB/T 18384.1 (2, 3)-2001 standards. The requirements for the simulation of wading experiments in the GB/T 18384.1 (2, 3)-2001 standard were as follows: Water on the street or on the water. The car should drive 500 meters at a speed of 20km/h in a 10cm deep pool for about 1.5 minutes. If the pool length is less than 500 meters, it needs to be performed several times. The total time (including the time outside the pool) should be less than 10 minutes.
The test engineers of Xiangyang National Automobile Quality Supervision and Inspection Center have strictly designed the Haiger 6109TAEV pure electric bus for wading experiments according to the standards. The wading test operation steps are divided into two working states.
State One: Hagrid's electric bus goes into a 15cm water depth tank and runs at a constant speed of 30km/h. The effective time is required to pass within 10 minutes. Hagrid's pure electric buses completed the test as required.
State II: Hagrid's electric bus is driven into a water depth of 30cm and is driven at a constant speed of 5km/h. The effective time is required to complete the forward and backward movement within 10 minutes.
After rigorous and systematic test data comparison and analysis, the test engineers concluded that: After the test vehicle was wading, its insulation resistance, battery, motor, high-voltage controller, and high-voltage wire harnesses all met the national standards. Hagrid Electric Bus successfully passed the wading experiment.
Among new energy vehicles, pure electric vehicles have the highest requirements for waterproofing. Hager is the preferred supplier of parts and components at home and abroad, and chooses components with excellent quality and higher water-repellent grades, and at the same time, rationally allocate battery locations. The comprehensive tradeoff between heat dissipation and waterproofness of batteries has always been a game that bus manufacturers need to face. Simply focusing on heat dissipation, water resistance is inevitably compromised; simply focusing on waterproofness may adversely affect heat dissipation. Hagrid's electric buses introduce air-conditioning cooling air into the battery compartment and install additional fans in the battery compartment to ensure that the battery pack is always in a good state of heat dissipation. At the same time, there are debris filtering facilities in the battery compartment to ensure the stability of the battery in all aspects and ensure the battery life.
Hagrid's electric scooters successfully carried out wading experiments, which proved that Hagrid's electric buses can fully meet the needs of urban traffic operations in different weather conditions or in the case of stagnant water sections, and have strengthened the confidence of customers in purchasing new energy buses.
