One is China's largest auto group, and the other is one of the four major commercial vehicle groups in Europe. The combination of SAIC and Iveco has become a major highlight in the field of local commercial vehicles.
Shortly after the South-South cooperation, SAIC Motors announced a high-profile commercial vehicle plan, setting its sales target at 700,000 units this year, and clearly stated that Nanjing Iveco and GM Wuling are the main players in the market. Among them, Yuejin light trucks under Nanjing Iveco is the product line with the greatest development potential. From the sales data of last year, in China's million-dollar light-bulb market, the share of Yuejin is less than 10%, and the room for improvement is very large. This also prompted SAIC Motors not to hesitate to increase this year's sales target to 65,000 units. If the target is successfully completed, the year-on-year increase will exceed 30%.
“SAIC has to enter the first group in the commercial vehicle sector, and sales volume and production scale are the most convincing. Nanjing Iveco’s commitment is to fill the gap in SAIC’s high-end light passenger market and continue to maintain the strong influence of Iveco brand. On the other hand, it is to promote the overall sales of Yuejin, which in turn will contribute to the overall scale expansion of SAIC's commercial vehicles. Since the integration of Nanjing Iveco and Yuejin in 2007, IVECO has continued to implant technology into Yuejin, and has successively launched the new quality leap forward and the Oka product. IVECO is working with Nanjing Iveco to develop a new leap forward product and plans to launch it around 2010. Oka and the new leap forward light trucks are all products that IVECO puts into the global market.
In 2008, IVECO's overseas channel construction and sharing for Yuejin will be fully completed. It can be expected that Yuejin Light Trucks will usher in a breakthrough growth in overseas markets while increasing its domestic market share.
