The self-satisfaction of homemade machine tools has increased dramatically

On December 24, 2008, as one of the 16 national major science and technology projects identified in the “National Medium- and Long-Term Scientific and Technological Development Plan Outline (2006-2020)”, the “major special project of high-end Cnc Machine Tools and basic manufacturing equipment” was officially launched. The implementation of major special projects will rapidly upgrade the technology and manufacturing level of China's machine tool industry and effectively promote the technological innovation and localization of domestic high-end CNC machine tools and basic manufacturing equipment.

According to the special plan, by 2020, 70% to 80% of the high-end CNC machine tools and basic manufacturing equipment required for manufacturing of aerospace, marine, automotive, and power generation equipment will be based in China. The special project basically supports the technological innovation of domestic high-end CNC machine tools in the form of project bidding.

The expected goal of this major project is: By 2020, the independent development capability of the main products of high-end CNC machine tools and basic manufacturing equipment will be formed, the overall technical level will enter the international advanced ranks, and some of the products will lead the world; a complete functional component research and development and supporting capability will be established. The formation of a technological innovation system that combines enterprises as the main body, production, study and research; and the training and establishment of a high-quality research and development team. In addition, the major special projects also set stage goals for 2010 and 2015.

The implementation of major special projects will rapidly upgrade the technology and manufacturing level of China's machine tool industry and effectively promote the technological innovation and localization of domestic high-end CNC machine tools and basic manufacturing equipment.
