The NXP LPC2900 microcontroller is based on the 80-MHz ARM968E-SMCU with two CAN controllers and two LIN controllers providing connectivity and gateway options for applications including industrial automation and in-vehicle networking. The LPC2900 microcontroller is based on the ARM968E-S processor core and is optimized for improved performance. With the help of an on-chip Power Management Unit (PMU), the LPC2900 can meet the needs of low-power applications with more efficient power consumption. For example, high-speed PWM (Pulse Width Modulator) and UART can be independently clocked at different clock frequencies, providing further flexibility for minimizing power consumption.
The LPC2900's performance includes two CAN interfaces and two LIN buses, a standard serial bus, and a responsible PWM and two analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), making the LPC2900 ideal for high-performance and high-volume applications. All three new products have a simplified design that provides uniform peripheral and code compatibility. The LPC2917 and LPC2919 feature a 32-bit memory controller that supports static memory devices including RAM, ROM, flash, burstROM, and external I/O devices. The system is capable of supporting up to 768KB of on-chip flash and 80KB of SRAM. The unique 128-bit wide flash (wideFlash) provides the highest performance for reading four words at a time, while the other can only read one word at a time. The SRAM is subdivided, with 16KB of tightly coupled memory (TCM) for data, 16KB of TCM for code, and 48KB of general purpose SRAM. The integrated CAN2.0B controller provides FullCAN mode for message reception, three transmit buffers with automated prioritization for high-performance gateway functions, and extensive filtering for global CAN acceptance.
