CR-V domestic sales exceeded million

On April 15, CR-V reached a ceremony to hold the Dongfeng Honda Wuhan No. 2 Plant. The data shows that since the Dongfeng Honda CR-V entered the Chinese market in 2004, it has sold more than one million units in 10 years and became the first million member in the domestic SUV market.

It is worth noting that at the closing ceremony, Ms. Suzuki Suzuki, the general manager of the new Dongfeng Honda, had just appeared for the first time before the Chinese media on April 1. She said that the future Dongfeng Honda will strive to create new market value and be more vitality.

In 2004, Dongfeng Honda opened up a new market of “Urban SUVs” from the cross-country SUV market. CR-V, as the first vehicle of Dongfeng Honda's attack on the market, has caused a sensation in the automotive industry with its distinctive and unique positioning. It is understood that CR-V has launched CR-V upgraded models in 2007, 2008, 2012 and 2013 respectively. During this period, CR-V has been evaluating the China Passenger Car Sustainability Report SUV for four consecutive years since 2009.

According to the latest data, in the first quarter of 2014, cumulative sales of CR-V were nearly 50,000 units, driving Dongfeng Honda's overall sales volume to 82,400 units, a year-on-year increase of 31.2%. In 2015, Dongfeng Honda plans to challenge more than 500,000 sales targets.

Dongfeng Honda executive deputy general manager Chen Binbo said in an interview that Dongfeng Honda will continue to strengthen the SUV matrix and product system. In 2015, Dongfeng Honda's products will reach 8 models and 2016 will reach 10 models.

Analysts pointed out that the capacity bottleneck may become the biggest pressure Dongfeng Honda faces. At present, Dongfeng Honda's two factories in Wuhan have a total capacity of 480,000 units. It is of great significance to start the construction of the third factory.

Recently, it has been reported that the third plant project that was planned to be launched before 2016 has broken ground ahead of schedule. The third plant is located at the intersection of Zhushan Lake Avenue and Fengshu Wu Road in Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone. It is close to the third plant of Shenlong Company and is currently in the stage of land leveling.
