Yin Taihe, vice president of Beiqi Co., Ltd., which is in charge of engineering manufacturing and quality control, told the automobile Sankei.com, “The quality system is the core competitiveness of a company. In terms of quality control, BAIC will not be like some companies To improve product quality, we will complete all quality control work prior to the launch of the new car. At the same time, as the unique AUDIT review system of BAIC, we will monitor the quality of the new car within three months of listing.

When asked how to choose between quality improvement and cost control, Yin Taihe said that the focus of Min Bao is unquestionably on quality. At the same time, BAIC is also carrying out cost adjustments, such as continuous improvement on platforms, parts, and generalization, to further reduce the cost of Saab.

For Yin Bao’s future performance, Yin Taihe expressed high hopes. He said, “Yanbao is the first generation of cars that made Beijing cars famous. In the future development of BAIC, we have to write a myth of Beiqi. And the first car of this myth is Saab."

1. Media: What do you think is the main feature of BAIC's quality system compared with other companies?

Yin Taihe: I have re-clarified this issue again. In fact, there are some differences in the quality management methods of Haobao and the quality management methods of Beiqi. For Min Bao, we spent six months to make a durability test of 100,000 kilometers. In addition to this, when we are developing cars, there is also a quality training component that is being done during the preparation phase. In the process of solving problems, if we encounter more professional problems, we have the IRT team, which is a focus group dedicated to solving professional issues. Through the work of this special group, we have achieved very good results in improving the performance and verifying the quality.

2. The media: What do you think is the current quality management system of BAIC and the quality and performance of SABIC in the world?

Yin Taihe: For Beiqi, it took us three years to establish this quality system. It can be said that from this year we officially entered a period of operation. Beiqi in the past few years can be understood as being in the establishment phase of the quality system, and now it is entering the operating period of the quality system. Now that this quality system can reach a certain level in the world, I think this can also be expressed in this set of data. But I think that ultimately, we must look at this market, such as some of the customer's reactions in the market. I am still very confident about the product quality of Sic Bo, because Sic Bo itself is from Saab Technology Platform, so I still have confidence in performance. But the more detailed, such as the perception of this quality aspect, this is where we still need to continue our efforts.

I think that due to differences in technology that lead to quality gaps, this is a short-lived process that can be overcome. For quality, it is very important to think of it as the awareness of each employee who constitutes a corporate culture.

3. Media: Someone used to have an analogy before, saying that when building a car, there are two indicators: sensory quality, performance quality and quality. In terms of sensory quality, companies generally pay great attention to it, and for performance indicators, they are qualified. Yes, do you agree with this view?

Yin Taihe: I understand the quality so much, quality is one aspect of the company's business, and the result of the company's business is also reflected in the quality above. How do you implement this business? How to finish it? The result is quality. With regard to performance quality, we know that when developing a model, there will be a performance goal. I think the most important thing is how to find a balance of performance, so that more users are satisfied. Actually like a band ensemble, maybe my band lira is world-class, and the piano is world-class. Then all the world-class people combined into an ensemble, can you play the best song? ? This is not necessarily true. When each company wants to develop a car, achieving performance goals is only the most basic job, and it is the most important job. But how do you get all of its performance to his balance and reach a coordination, this is what the company is going to do.

Beijing Automobile has established a unique Audi system for BAIC. The English abbreviation is AUDIT. It can supervise and manage the quality of various manufacturing processes. For example, stamping parts come out, how do we manage the quality of the stamping parts, we have such a set of specifications in the inside, we have to do AUDIT review in different stages of development, and will always track the mass production of new cars The last three months.

4. Media: This quality control system of BAIC has its own brand with other joint ventures. What is the difference?

Yin Taihe: Compared with the joint venture, we are still at the beginning stage, so we still have many places where we need to improve our efforts. In fact, I have also observed that some companies are doing such a process of quality cultivation while listing, but for BAIC, it will complete all the quality control work before listing, so I think this is a bright spot for us at BAIC.

5. Media: We understand that all the workshop management and quality control departments of the Yubao Factory are basically fully controlled by the ROK or the Japanese person in charge. Well, we also know that Korean cars and Japanese cars do a good job of controlling costs. So how did you come to balance the quality of your control while balancing the costs of this increase?

Yin Taihe: This problem should be a problem that all OEMs will face. In fact, this is also the relationship between spear and shield. We think so. If I raise the cost very high, is it because the quality is also proportionally upward? I don't think this is necessarily the case. We still need to think about this issue. In fact, for the management of quality costs, many companies do not do a good job. Everyone has different views on quality costs, such as whether the cost of controlling quality is counted in the development period or after the development, or in the cost after the mass production. There are many different opinions. So in the cost of some models, it includes quality control costs, but some companies do not include quality costs in its cost components.

In fact, the Sic Bo is a relatively luxurious car. At this point we have had some difficulty. In fact, when developing a vehicle model, it often involves such a problem. That is to say, your focus on this vehicle is to control the cost or focus on the quality. This should be the decision that the top level has to make. However, I think that Min Bao should focus on quality. This requires us to find a balance point. At present, we are also doing a cost adjustment, such as improvements in platforms, parts, and generalization.

6. Media: In our current quality management system, what is the proportion of foreign managers?

Yin Taihe: Actually, in each core position, not only the Korean but also Japanese experts work in that position. We also have a lot of Saab engineers and Saab technicians. In different stages of development, the composition of the personnel is not used, but it is somewhat clear that foreign experts will be assigned to each core position.
