Phosphorus-containing ammonia wastewater for full reuse

The A/B catalytic process developed by the Xuzhou Institute of Water Treatment in Jiangsu Province has been successfully applied in more than 10 ammonium phosphate and ammonium sulfate production enterprises so far. The treated ammonia-containing wastewater can be replaced with desalinated water by 100%, providing a good solution to the problem of eutrophication.

The new process adopts A/B bed to treat the sewage. The new type catalytic chelating filler in A bed absorbs the ammonium ions in the wastewater. When the adsorption concentration meets the requirements, it is replaced by sulfuric acid or phosphoric acid to generate higher concentrations of ammonium sulfate and ammonium phosphate. The solution is recycled, and the acid in the waste water is adsorbed on the B-bed. The concentration of the acid in the waste water is required to be replaced with ammonia to generate a higher concentration of ammonium salt, and the concentrated product is produced. The A/B bed can be used to treat waste water repeatedly. The service life of the equipment is more than 10 years. The service life of the packing is 2 to 3 years. In order to reduce the investment cost, the new process improved the water and steam separation device, minimized the amount of water carried during evaporation, reduced the concentration of pollutants in the condensate, and realized the source plus end treatment. Its investment is half of that of the membrane method, and its processing cost is 1/100.
