Inventory of China's mold manufacturing industry "seven kinds of status"

Mold manufacturing is the first of all manufacturing, known as 'the mother of industry'. According to Luo Baihui, the secretary-general of the International Model Association, 80% of parts and components in electronics, automobiles, motors, electrical appliances, instruments, meters, home appliances, and communications products rely on molds. At present, the areas surrounding Shenzhen and the Pearl River Delta have become China's most advanced plastic mold industry and the highest technological content. In the next few years, with the acceleration of the global manufacturing industry's focus on China's central and western regions, this region may become a global mold manufacturing center within 10 years. The plastic mold industry in Yuyao, Ninghai, Huangyan, Wenzhou, etc. in the eastern part of Zhejiang Province is also developing rapidly. The number of people has reached more than 100,000 people and the annual output value of the mold is RMB 9 billion.

The development of the mold industry and other industries can be described in terms of the lips and teeth, so the overall level of the mold industry is closely related to the development of related industries. Luo Baihui believes that at present, China's mold products are mainly dominated by medium and low grades, and the technical content is relatively low. Most high-middle-range molds rely on imports. One reason is that the related industries lack core technologies.

First of all, the uneven process conditions of the domestic mold manufacturers have seriously affected the precision and quality of the mold.

In the heat treatment process of precision molds, domestic molds are difficult to match with foreign products due to their different mold materials in appearance quality and service life. Domestic molds are mostly made of 2Cr13 and 3Cr13, while foreign countries use special mold materials. Their comprehensive mechanical properties, wear resistance, corrosion resistance and polishing brightness are more superior.

Second, the level of standardization needs to be improved. China's mold standardization work started late, standard parts production, sales, promotion and application work is relatively backward, the current mold standard parts use coverage of about 40% to 45%, while the international generally higher than 79%, small and medium-sized mold is more More than 80%.

Third, there is an urgent need for improvement in the dilemma of the demand for tooling talents far more than for supply. The cultivation of mould talents is a long-term process in itself and requires the accumulation of many years of experience. However, due to the conditions of hardware and software facilities, the practical skills of some professional trainees cultivated in some colleges and universities are not sufficient. At the same time, the lack of standardized vocational teaching standards has caused the students of various types of training courses in the society to be uneven.

Fourth, we need to redouble our efforts to accelerate the pace of structural adjustment of mold products. The overall development direction will still be to realize the development speed of large-scale, sophisticated, complex, long-life molds and mold standard parts faster than the overall speed of the industry; continue to expand the proportion of plastic molds and injection molds; expand the number of professional mold manufacturers and ability.

Fifth, increase investment to strengthen innovation capabilities. It is necessary for backbone enterprises to complete the entire set of equipment, from roughing of molds, heat treatment to various finishings, finishing, quality control and monitoring. General enterprises should also have CNC machining equipment to achieve full-automatic machining of molds. And through the promotion of cooperation between production, education and research, we will intensify innovation.

Sixth, the promotion of joint reorganization between mold companies should become a general trend. This is mainly due to the fact that a considerable part of the current mold enterprise is a private enterprise. It is objectively difficult to introduce advanced molding technology and equipment. This undoubtedly exacerbates the competition in the middle and low market.

Seventh, the development of overseas markets needs to be deepened. Take Australia as an example. The country's demand for stamping dies is bullish. China can use its own advantages in technology and equipment to further explore the international market.
