Intelligrated showcases DDC technology to optimize cross-belt sorting accuracy

Intelligrated, a leading supplier of automated material transportation solutions based in North America, exhibited Dynamic Offload Compensation (DDC) technology at the 2016 Atlanta Logistics Show to optimize cross-belt sorting accuracy.

The DDC enhanced sensing technology detects the size and position of the objects on the conveyor belt and dynamically adjusts the sorter unloading behavior to achieve the highest level of accuracy. The increase in the accuracy of unloading results in a larger chute density, which in turn extends the operating capacity without additional space and minimizes the risk of blockage and other sorting errors. Since the intelligent system does not adjust the position of the object prior to unloading, it can reduce component wear and extend the life of the device. DDC technology is suitable for upgrading an existing cross-belt system or as a core component of a new cross-belt sorting solution.
