Global PV inverter shipments drop from Germany

According to the IMS report, the German market witnessed a year-on-year decline of more than 1 GW in PV inverter shipments, which was the main reason for the 8% drop in global shipment levels.

“Most of the photovoltaic inverter products are still sold within Europe, but if the average selling price per watt is calculated in Euros, the price of the previous quarter's products is still relatively stable. However, not all news is bad news. The global PV inverter shipments increased during the first two quarters of 2011, despite the decrease in revenue due to the decline in the average selling price of products. In addition, the company also expects that due to the new stimulus policies in the Asian market and the completion of the equipment installation in Germany in order to grab the price reduction on January 1, 2012, the inverter shipments are expected to further increase.
