CSSC Power and MAN jointly launched a new generator set
Recently, the new small-bore four-stroke diesel generator set L18/28 jointly developed by China Ship Power Co., Ltd. and MAN was officially released.
At the end of 2012, MAN and China Ship Power Corporation signed a joint development agreement to jointly develop a new generation of small-bore four-stroke medium-speed diesel engine L18/28. Subsequently, CSSC Powered several batches of technicians to go to MAN to participate in the R&D of the L18/28 model. With the joint efforts of both parties, the development and design of this type of machine was completed in the near future. The first prototype will be launched as soon as possible.
As a new generation diesel engine, L18/28 is designed on the basis of summarizing the advantages and disadvantages of the actual manufacture and application of the 16/24 and 23/30H two-type machines. The design has extensively referred to the experience and suggestions accumulated by CSSC in production. The model has a high degree of localization, is more environmentally friendly and energy-saving, and has low manufacturing, operation and maintenance costs. At present, the design of the L18/28 is mainly based on generator applications, and the target ship type includes bulk carriers and oil tankers . Other uses include offshore engineering, stationary power stations, and electric propulsion generator sets.
CSSC is a national high-tech enterprise with a history of importing licenses to produce diesel engines for nearly 40 years. At the same time of introducing patents, the company actively carried out the localization development of diesel engine parts, accumulated rich experience and obtained a number of patents. In recent years, the company has increased the introduction and training of high-level talents and attached importance to enhancing research and development capabilities. In 2012, the company built a national enterprise technology center. In order to further enhance the company's ability to innovate, the company strengthened its cooperation with patent parties and began cooperative research and development in 2012. The completion of the development of the 18/28 model is a phased achievement of the company's cooperation with the patentee.
