Li Jingming, deputy secretary-general of the Machine Tool Association, said that last year China's machine tool industry continued its rapid growth in 2010, but the growth rate began to decline slowly from the second half of the year. The industrial restructuring of the industry has made remarkable progress, and high-end machine tools are in short supply. The structural upgrade of market demand accelerated, and imports hit a record high, while domestic demand for low-end products decreased significantly.

"Reinvention of new imports" shows that China's machine tool products, especially high-end products, cannot meet market demand. According to the information provided by the Machine Tool Association, the amount of metal processing machine tools imported from Japan and the world’s machine tool countries in the world increased by 50.3% and 40.0%, respectively, compared with the previous year. In terms of mid-range products, the amount of processing centers imported from Taiwan and South Korea was relatively low. The previous year also increased by 23.7% and 24.3%, respectively, and the key machine tool features are still dependent on imports.

The Machine Tool Association announced on the same day that the 7th China CNC Machine Tool Fair will be held from April 16th to 20th at the Nanjing International Exhibition Center in Jiangsu.
