According to the monthly automobile production and sales statistics released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the production and sales of automobiles in China continued to grow rapidly in the first quarter of this year. The production and sales of motor vehicles were 2,129,800 and 2,213,700, which was a year-on-year increase of 22.57% and 22.17%.
Statistics show that in March, domestic automobile production and sales not only grew faster than the previous month, but also exceeded 800,000 in both pairs, creating another record high, with commercial vehicles growing significantly faster than passenger cars.
From January to March this year, the top ten sales companies followed were: SAIC, FAW, Dongfeng, Chang'an, BAIC, GAC, Chery, Hafei, Brilliance and Geely. They sold 397,100 units, 328,100 units, and 2.6,200 units respectively. There were 20.11 million vehicles, 172,600 vehicles, 110,100 vehicles, 103,100 vehicles, 76,600 vehicles, 69,900 vehicles and 54,600 vehicles. Compared with the same period of the previous year, Changan and BAIC showed a slight decrease, while other companies maintained steady growth, including Brilliance. The increase is still significant.
