According to statistics, in 2014, the national entry-exit inspection and quarantine institutions detected 23,418 batches of imported garments, and detected 1785 batches of unqualified safety and quality goods, with a total of 1.18 million pieces of goods and a value of 12.93 million US dollars. The main reason is that the fiber composition does not match the label. Color fastness, PH value, formaldehyde, azo and other items do not meet the requirements of China's mandatory technical regulations. Detected 1811 batches of imported simulation jewelry, found 266 batches of safety quality unqualified, 4747.1 kg, 653,000 US dollars, the batch failure rate was 14.7%, and the batch failure rate showed a large after continuous decline for two consecutive years. Inspection of 21455 batches of imported toy products, 345 batches of unqualified goods, value of 4,265,600 US dollars, mainly for mechanical physics items and warning signs failed.
The inspection and quarantine institutions have returned or destroyed imported consumer goods that are not qualified for safety and health projects, and rejected unqualified consumer goods outside the country to effectively protect the health and safety of Chinese consumers. Recently, the Beijing Inspection and Quarantine Bureau concentrated on the destruction of 119 batches of unqualified imported garments, amounting to 344,000 US dollars. The Shanghai Inspection and Quarantine Bureau concentrated on the destruction of more than 69,000 pieces of unqualified imported clothing and simulation accessories, amounting to 550,000 US dollars.
